reboot.
in the wise words of carrie bradshaw, who ironically doesn’t make the wisest decisions-
“after all- computers crash, people die, relationships fall apart. the best we can do is breathe and reboot.”
this idea of starting over is something i feel we tend to reserve for a new years resolution that gets scribbled onto a piece of scratch paper that we will intentionally loose.
change is easier to deal when you are forced to cooperate, yet change that is the result of your own action- let’s just say, we’ll save it for the new year.
this year has brought a great new deal of change in my life- some of my own action and others quite forced. yet, slowly but surely, i am beginning to find out a little more about me.
when it comes to what i live and breathe—style—i am beginning to fall into this middle category that i struggle to find representation in.
a category that isn’t pushing trends. boasts quality construction. obsesses over the need to minimize. remains neutral.
although i tend to purchase from the women’s section, i pursue garments that have a sharp, masculine cut. i have lost the need for labels and it has changed the way i purchase clothing.
a documentation of a minimalist wardrobe through a unisex perspective is something that i have been looking for in the fashion space. so i have decided to just do it myself.
something just told me- it’s time to reboot.
this change began the moment i looked into my own wardrobe and didn’t like a single thing i saw in front of me.
lacking in functionality, versatility, and an overall cohesive look- it was time to scratch it and go back to the basics.
below, i have compiled a few categories that I find essential to building back to the basics and have shared a few examples that i personally appreciate.
