seasonal patterns.
i found myself in quite the pattern.
maybe its my inclination to all of the sudden be a new person each year. having the desire to always want more for myself. maybe i just really love a rebrand.
but its usually every season, i find myself in a predicament where i have no clothes to wear.
and before you ask, no its not cause i want to have more material goods. its not because what i have isn’t enough for me.
this pattern—that i have created for myself—is once a season passes along and i found use in what i have curated for my wardrobe, its time to find them a new home.
i take what i have, sort what is worth keeping, and then upload everything to my favorite resell sites to find everything a new owner that will appreciate them more.
it was reassuring to see that emma chamberlain does the same thing. *question is- who did it first*
now, i have always loved this process. it helps me keep a minimal wardrobe that is based upon realistic expectations of what i will actually wear.
but then, once the next season comes along… i tend not to have anything to wear.
everything has been sold and i’m wearing the same pair of jeans and boxy tee to get me through the following weeks.
one positive thing that has come from this constant pattern of source, wear & recycle— i know how to find a good essential for the season.
below, i have curated a capsule wardrobe for the cooler seasons ahead.
perfect enough— you may just end up keeping them. click here to shop or scroll through xx
01. the heavyweight tee
(left) i own in both black and white, and i have never looked back. (middle) the perfect tee to wear underneath a sweater.
02. the white collared shirt
(left) perfect for layering with knitwear and is breathable & non-restricting.
03. the perfect sweater
(middle) one of the best heavyweight knits that i have had the pleasure of trying on.
04. black on the bottom
a pair of wide-leg denim, loose fit trousers and baggy sweats- its all you will ever need.
05. the jacket that keeps on giving
anything with a padded shoulder, that’s all i have to say.
