sourced vol. 1

beyond my tendency to scroll endlessly on tiktok or my perfectionist tendency when it comes to the organization of my instagram feed- there is something that has become an even worse habit.

its my addiction to The RealReal. and i don’t plan on quitting any time soon.

i could accredit the beginning of my style transformation to The RealReal. forever ingrained in my mind is my first purchase from them- runway 2018 Raf Simons jeans with a patch on the front.

the price, at that point, couldn’t scare me away- the feeling of finding such a treasure formed a person addicted to the thrill of finding that one unique piece.

years later, i still find myself, in the middle of the night, scrolling on the app with such focus & determination to find that next item that will spark a similar feeling.

this thrill of the search is what has even pushed me to work in the realm of styling and sourcing.

when it comes to apps like these, it can be overwhelming for a lot of people— including me.

at first, it was a space for me to find the perfect statement piece. but as time moved forward, i found myself in a wardrobe with all standout garments that didn’t go together that ended up just hanging in my closet. and the more i purchased, the more confused i became- why couldn’t i just find the right thing?

as I find myself in a point of life where I am focusing on elevating my style through the basics and transforming the way I spend my money on clothing, i have had to change the way I shop.

i couldn’t just focus on the designer name an item was labeled or the unique design an item possessed, i had to begin to ask myself:

how would i style this? what does it go with in my closet? how many ways could i rewear it? and the big one— do i actually need it?

to help you avoid the clutter, i wanted to begin sourcing pieces for those that reflect this mindset of quality-over-quantity.

below, i have curated 12 items that i find to be great layering pieces & accessories that are perfect for the fall/winter wardrobe. scroll through and click to shop xx
